The Princess Bride has always been one of my favorite films, as I often

watched it with my sister and father when I was younger. As I grew up, I was able to appreciate the humor and emotion behind the film (such as the love portrayed in "As you wish"). I recently watched the film again and was interested in how it was adapted from book to film and what went into the preproduction/production of the film. 

It was interesting to find out that the author of The Princess Bride, William

Goldman, had tried to make his book into a film multiple times before it landed in _____'s hands, who finally took it from page to picture.
